The 18 Year is matured mainly in sherry casks, with American oak and Japan's rare Mizunara oak adding their own accents. Mizunara is notoriously difficult to work with, but it brings a sandalwood-and-incense quality you won't find in any Scotch.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDeep amber in the glass. The nose is layered with raisin, apricot, café au lait and that unmistakable Mizunara spice. On the palate, blackberry, strawberry jam and dark chocolate unfold slowly, and the finish is long, smooth and gently spiced.
