Experience the essence of Napa Valley with Far Niente Cabernet Sauvignon, a wine that embodies the rich history and tradition of the region. Founded in 1885 by gold rush veteran John Benson, the estate has been meticulously restored to its former glory since its abandonment during Prohibition. Today, it spans 200 acres of prime vineyards, including the revered Martin Stelling vineyard, known for its exceptional gravel and loam soils.
This Cabernet Sauvignon is a testament to the meticulous care that goes into its production. The grapes are carefully sorted to ensure only the finest fruit is selected. Following vinification, the wine is aged for 17 months in mostly new French oak barrels, allowing it to develop a plush and concentrated character. The result is a wine bursting with flavors of succulent cassis, blackberries, and dark plums, complemented by hints of star anise and bitter chocolate.
On the palate, you will find a robust full body with firm tannins and a solid core of dark fruit, leading to a long, harmonious finish that is seasoned with notes of cigar box spice and cedar. For optimal enjoyment, it is recommended to decant the wine for two hours before serving and to cellar it for up to 25 years.
Please drink responsibly.
